Single Origin or Blend?
One bag names a single country, the other says «blend». Both have their place – it depends on what you’re after.
Single origin
Coffee from one single source – a country, a region or even a single farm. It shows the character of its origin most clearly: the typical acidity, the particular aromas. Ideal for getting to know origins – though it can vary a little from harvest to harvest.
Blend
A deliberate mix of several coffees. The aim is a rounded, consistent profile that tastes the same all year. Espresso blends are the classic: they provide balance, body and a stable crema – often with one part for sweetness and one for strength.
Which is better?
Neither. For filter and for exploring: single origin, gladly. For the reliable espresso every morning: often a good blend. Many roasters make both – and are happy to explain what’s inside.
